A Quick History Lesson 1936--the Rhineland 1938--Austria and the Sudetenland 1939--The balance of Czechoslovakia and then Poland. Hitler promised after each event that that was the last of it and continued to become more passive. The rest is history, which by the way, involves France being overrun and the Battle of Britain. The Brits stand alone while the bleeding Germans bomb women and children. Europe is overrun by the nazis and the US steps in after 20 years of isolationism.
Churchill said countless times this war was such a tragedy because it could have been avoided several times. Guess what was being said all through the 30's? NO WAR! We are left with 20 million dead. "KNOW YOUR ENEMY" (Frank Capra's WWII Propaganda film)
The No War Crowd I have identified three types of "NO WAR" crowd:
1. The "war is bogus dude" crowd. College students, hippy-dippies, socialists, liberals, meat-head types.
8 Points on War 1. Free flow of oil. ("But we only get 10% of our oil from that region!!!") If supply to the world is jeopardized, prices will go up world wide and effect us all, especially the "poor". 2. Israel. Youse wanna talk about WW3? If this dude nukes the Israelis, or gases them, or some such villainy, that whole stinking region will go up like a powder keg. 3. UN resolutions 1 through 18... does a UN resolution mean anything? Apparently not. 4. Bush has an obligation to the US Constitution and the American people, und das ist alles!! Not the UN, France, Germany, Russia, China, etc. Our interests come first, and we shouldn't worry about the fact that Germany and France are in bed financially with Iraq. 5. Saddam has violated the peace treaty of the last war. Say no more. 6. Human rights violations run wild. Say no more. 7. Saddam's current or potential relations with Terrorists. Say no more. 8. Chemical, nuclear and biological weapons. Say no more.
